Such date was updated on Twitter by Mayweather on his latest tweet as of 4 p.m. on November 29th (Manila time). Updates were derived from the recent post in Yahoo News along with Philippine Star.

The controversial American victor finally broke his silence and decided to fight against Manny Pacquiao. It was honestly been rumored that there are speculations that Mayweather will be fighting Pacquiao, and now, the confirmation has finally been declared. There will definitely be another historical event in the world of boxing.

And the general Filipino responses; well, it also excite them as well. Most have shared their point of view that the very reason why, this time, Floyd Mayweather finally agreed to fight Pacquiao is because Pacquiao showed only satisfactory results of his recently help fight against Marquez on November 12.

In relation to this fight, some also thought that Pacquiao intended to display a not-so-impressive match against Marquez so that Mayweather will “get the bait” and decide to fight against Pacquiao. “He must’ve seen my fight against Marquez that’s why he’s not scared of me anymore (English translated),” said Pacquiao as quoted in Yahoo News.

Michael Marley, a boxing raconteur thinks the Pacquiao versus Mayweather is a fight that should be materialized since both fighters have realized they’re getting old; therefore they should have the fight now. Mayweather is 34 while Pacquiao is turning 33. I personally think that for both parties to get settled who are the best among them, allow them to have a duel.

On Mayweather’s statement on the article, he said various things about their upcoming fight:

“Losing is in Pacquiao’s mind because he lost just last week (pertaining Pacquiao’s win against Marquez). He lost to Marquez three times. May 5 is the date, sign the contract, I’m waiting.”

“I can’t be sitting waiting all day, you want to fight let’s make it happen. I’m here. I’m waiting. What’s going on? I can sign today. If I sign today you better sign tomorrow.”

“You said you’re a clean athlete and you said you’d take the test so let’s do it.”

With these statements, it’s clear that Mayweather really find Pacquiao a very competitive contender. As for the Pound-for-Pound King, he’s not the type of person who goes away from the fight. If Filipinos are looking forward for both Mayweather and Pacquiao to have a history-making boxing fight, I’m sure, so as our Pacman.

I hope that fight does happen. I think it would be the best fight in the world and I would love to see it,” said Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s chief trainer.

“Let’s get it on. Make the fight happen and let’s give people a good fight,” Pacquiao said on top of the ring.
