OK. We are going to clarify things here. For the past sports blog updates in this site, we have been detailing the reasons why Mayweather couldn’t fight Pacquiao on the highlighted date due to his case on domestic violence. No wonder various lists of boxers have been listed as potential candidates for Pacquiao this May instead of Mayweather.

After a short while, the American boxer tweeted our Pacman to challenge him once again because his case will be moved from its scheduled hearing. He can then already get to have a match with Pacquiao as the expected date—May 5th this year. The people then became more excited since majority is really anticipating more on Pacquiao and Mayweather fight compared to other projected challengers of our Philippine boxer.

But there has been another recent post that Pacman’s camp will not tolerate such challenge on social media sites and decided to disagree for the May 2012 challenge. So, ano ba talaga? Will Manny Pacquiao really accept challenge from Mayweather and fight him once and for all—or not?

Well, the latest post of BBC detailed that Pacquiao confirms to accept Floyd Mayweather’s challenge to fight him—in the boxing ring.

Even if Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum seem to have “alibis” in hindering the said May 2012 fight due to various reasons and considerations, our Pacman wanted “give the world what they want to see”. For his personal side, he really is interested in fighting Mayweather for good. It’s just that Mayweather is concerned about “a guaranteed purse”.

“So what he has to do is get a promoter who can give him the guarantee,” Pacquiao said. “”I don’t have problems getting a guarantee because I have a promoter who will give me my guaranteed purse. If he gets a guarantee, then we are going to share the revenue on a 50-50 basis.”

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum added: “There is no problem on our part – the problem is on Mayweather’s. Mayweather needs somebody on his side that’s going to guarantee his purse. Mayweather has nobody on his side and GBP (Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions) is not going to guarantee his purse,” as quoted from the source.

So to answer our question, Pacquiao will indeed fight Mayweather, and the date is going to be on May this year. For those who are really anticipating for this game, this is a fight that is really worth watching. I personally am even expecting that the fight will rake millions of finances for the pay per view.

This is really going to be the fight of a lifetime. With both parties so eager to fight, we are really going to have an enjoyable battle between two champions.

Looking for the latest sports blog updates about Manny Pacquiao and his fight against Mayweather? We’ve always been keen and eager to know that they will have a controversial fight this May 5. Everyone, especially the Filipino people, just want to see Manny’s irksome adversary fight him in the ring. Mayweather has been Pacquiao’s opponent both inside and outside the boxing ring.

But this blog sports news that has been recently posted by Freep.com may disappoint those people who want a Manny Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight. According to the post, Manny Pacquiao’s camp says there is no economic sense in setting up a bout with Floyd Mayweather on May 5 after the unbeaten American publicly challenged the Filipino champion via Twitter.

Well, who would want to get challenged in a real boxing fight just because someone confronted you on Twitter right?

Even if it is factual that Mayweather is available for a fight this May since a judge agreed last week to postpone his jail sentence for domestic violence until June, still, Pacquiao’s camp will not tolerate such impulsiveness. Pacquiao’s financial adviser Michael Koncz told The Associated Press on Thursday that a 45,000-seat boxing arena being built in Las Vegas won’t be finished before the end of May and staging the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight in a smaller venue is “foolish from an economic standpoint,” as posted by the said resource.

“Why would I tell Manny to fight on the 5th and throw away a percentage of 30 million? That’s crazy,” said Michael Koncz.

However, Bob Arum, Top Rank promoter told the Philippines’ GMA television that the only reason the fight won’t happen is if there is an economic problem. “The fight could happen very, very easily at the end of May — enough time to build the outdoor arena the fight so badly needs.”

What do you think of this issue? Do you think it is a must for our Philippine boxer to really fight Mayweather on May 5? With all the unavoidable circumstances that happened on Mayweather particular to the case he is facing now, do you think he is worthy for an honorable fight against our respectful boxer? “The purse is not the issue right now, the date is,” Koncz said, but do you think it is indeed the right moment for both parties to prove that one of them is the greatest among the other? Feel free to comment.

It’s the latest and one of the trendiest topics of today when it pertains to the latest news in boxing. Due to the things that had happened to Floyd Mayweather Jr. about his case, the public has been told that the Pacquiao and Mayweather fight will be delayed this May 5th and expected that Pacquiao will be fighting another boxer on the said date.

But it seems like the winds have been changing as far as sports news updates are concerned.

As posted by USA Today on its sports section, Mayweather is really that eager to fight Manny Pacquiao as he “has taken his quest for a fight with [Pacman] on Twitter!” in fact, he publicly challenged and taunted the Filipino superstar on Tuesday, daring Pacquiao to meet him May 5 in Las Vegas.” This is really a very controversial issue about the tow boxing superstars.

“Manny Pacquiao I’m calling you out let’s fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see,” said Mayweather with his Twitter. “My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk.”

Surprising how he could be this straightforward with his tweets about our boxer. But he sure isn’t just making stories, right? Well, in fair view, his challenge towards Pacman does have facts for basis. The news detailed that Mayweather can indeed fight Pacquiao on the specified date since the judge in charge of Mayweather agreed last week to “postpone his jail sentence in a domestic violence case until June.” Mayweather was sentenced to 87 days in jail, but likely will serve less time, as the source detailed.

And what will our boxer ever try to run away from this opportunity? Surely we all know that as far as Philippine boxing is concerned, Mayweather is the boxer Pacquiao is dying to fight with. Kating kati na, if we could detail it with our language. He even told the PhilBoxing.com this week that he wants Floyd Mayweather Jr. to be his next opponent.

“I’ve said this over and over before, and I’m saying this again. I haven’t changed my choice despite recent developments,” said Manny Pacquiao.

That’s the spirit of how our Pambansang Kamao looks forward to fight Floyd Mayweather—once and for all. They have been “verbally sparring” for the past year, and each of them are dying to prove that one is better than the other. So basically, in order to prove which among them is really the best, they have to meet on the ring. And that date is going to be a few months from now. Mark that date: it’s going to be on May 5, 2012!

After Philippine Azkals 3-1 score against the Spanish Club Football International de Madrid (CFIM), though Phl icons was defeated last January 7 they are at least considered the match successful because of their main aim for the game. “Dili Kamo Nag-iisa” is the charity game’s name for the Typhoon ‘Sendong’s’ victim in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City.

This 21st of the month, Philippine football team will face another game challenge with top Korean football club from Icheon as their anticipating opponent, again, for the benefit of the casualties of Sendong’s wrath in the same areas in Mindanao. The match will be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium announced by the organizers yesterday such as the Dragon Promotions and the ABS-CBN.

The game organizers stated in an interview that on January 21 this match will be a sure hit game test to the young Azkals as they will play in opposition to the Korean’s pro team from South Korea. Since many Korean football teams achieved a great World Cup experience, thus, Azkals members have to be in their most excellent form in order to win the game.

With the last score of Azkals vs CFIM on their game, the Philippine Red Cross said that the match has raised P1.9 million, which is more than the target fund to raise P1.5 million. How about Azkals next charity match with Korean Club this 21, how much you think will they raise fund?

How much money would the Phl team will accumulate, the important is their kind heart, their greatest mission to help the people in lost because of Sendong. Proceeds from the sales of the ticket, it will be donated to the casualties by ABS-CBN which will cover the game live.

As this Azkals-Korean game developed, this 14th of January before the main game, there will be a friendly match between the GC Cranes, the German Club (GC) Manila’s resident football team vs. Bilibid Prison’s medium security inmates to be held in Bilibid.

Because of Korea’s immense power skills, the Azkals are expected to discover new skills from the Icheon booters, as they will likely to join by standouts from the UFL and Under-23 team for the match. Boasting the achievements of Korean’s Club to have had eight FIFA World Cup stints, they belieed to be the football teams within the Asia that are most organized in football program structure from the junior level to the pro.

Apart from the MLS Cup champion team of LA Galaxy with the Global icon, David Beckham last Dec. 3, 2011friendly match, the Koreans is supposed to be the most current football team to visit in the country to fight against Azkals that is awaited by each team’s fans, as the (CFIM) Spanish third division club CF Internacional de Madrid has been successful for a charity game last Saturday.

The upcoming game will absolutely be making manifestations and appeals to all Filipino and Korean communities who are fanatic from both Azkals and Korea, which is basically a good support to rise up and shore up the cause.

Since the second day of January this year, the controversy still continues. Aside from Charice’s issue concerning her cover on Preview Magazine being “photoshopped”, Jinkee Pacquiao, wife of pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao also faces the same online disbeliefs about her photo as a cover for Mega Magazine.

You heard the news: lots of negative and even offensive reactions and comments were read and heard in the news and in the internet. It was even the most trending topics on Twitter and the most written blog updates on that certain day! Though it’s been days since this issue blew like a bomb on the social media sites, right now, Jinkee Pacquiao still faces magazine cover hullabaloos.

How did the controversial Jinkee Pacquiao respond to the commentators?

“Payat siguro, oo. Payat ako tingnan doon. Maganda kasi ang pagka… ‘yung pictorial namin maganda ang pagkakagawa. Tsaka ‘yung mga staff din, magaling sila” (Thin maybe, Yes. I do look thin in there. The pictorial made was indeed beautiful. And the staff, they were all good), quoting what she said on the ABS-CBN News.

“Makikita naman nila siguro sa akin na pumayat talaga ako. HIndi ko nga alam kung nag-gain ako ng weight ngayon kasi Christmas and New Year, so kain lang.” (They could somehow see in me that I really lost weight. I’m not even sure if I did gain weight today because it’s Christmas and New Year, so I just ate.”

“So sila na lang magsasabi… parang tignan na lang nila ako in person. “Basta hindi ko na kailangan mag-explain pa. Basta ‘yun na ‘yung resulta ng aming pictorial. Maganda naman siya at happy naman ako nung nakita ko ['yung cover], ” (So they’ll just be the one who will tell… so they can see me in person. All I know is that I don’t need to explain anymore. That was the result of the pictorial. It was indeed good and I’m happy when I saw the cover) she added as she also challenges her critics.

As we all know, the said photo on the cover was issued to be over-edited or “too much photoshopped”. Some even said it is a very different Jinkee and they ask how much of it was real. How people reacted to it varied basically in two summarized ideas: the first one load the photo with endless criticisms while the other one compliments it. It pains to know that some people do expressed greatly how “money has done to make someone change her face like that”, but as for Jinkee, she just responded that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Besides, the star for the cover is completely satisfied with the result. Even if, indeed, the photo undergone “the normal editing process that all Mega covers go through”, as long as Jinkee herself is happy with the outcome, that keeps the commentators keep the comments for themselves.

“Dili Kamo Nag-iisa”, the charity match dubbed by the game organizers of Philippine Azkals vs Spanish Tercera division club CF Internacional de Madrid just finished last Saturday, January 7, at the Rizal Memorial football Stadium with Filipino footballer’s aim: Help typhoon ‘Sendong’ victims in the Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City.

Showing more solidity and improved game shape, the Azkals-Alyansa has gone its best skills. This game was really anticipated by the local viewers through coverage of AKTV, Studio 23 and ABS-CBN. It has even become the ‘game of the day’ in the Philippine football news.

During the game, the Spanish Club buried the Philippine team with 2 goals in the game’s first 45 minutes. As evident of the game, 1-3 loss to Spaniards, the Azkals will have their effort outline insofar as in advance to top conditioning and unity are concerned. Actually, the game nighs on a CFIM show.

At the 15th minute, the Philippine goalkeeper Eduard Sacapano was beat by the opponent’s striker Rufino “Rufo” Familiar Sanchez on the penalty kick as the Spanish football team drew first goal that even the Filipino fans cheered on. And on courtesy of Daniel Fernandez for a 2nd time 17 minutes later, the Spanish players was found at the back of the net, as Fernandez rescued to send the ball past Sacapano from defender Carli de Murga.

After this defensive effort of Fernandez, the Spanish team made it 3-0 a minute into the game’s second half where Ignacio Buenache Feijoo led to a goal.

Forestalling a shutout, Azkals Alyansa through a title by James Younghusband, who has created well on Chieffy Caligdong, the Phl Captain on a cross from the left line setting the hosts on the scoreboard, “I’m glad to get the goal but I’m more happy to be part of this endeavor; we all got together and helped raised money for the victims,”

According to the Dan Palami, the Azkals team manager, “It (CFIM game) was a good gauge for us, we saw how far we have to go for the Challenge Cup. Basic problem for us is fitness and we need more training,” on his interview after the match.

The football-cause contributed huge support to the casualties of Sendong in the affected areas in Mindanao. “I feel the match is very enjoyable, very open,” said by CFIM coach Javier Garcia Marquez in Spanish language after the game. “Most important of all, I think, everyone enjoyed the game; we enjoyed it, and hope you enjoyed it. And I believe, whatever was the objective of the game, we did enough to raise funds.”

Even though that the local team did not success to win the game, with the estimated 8,000 audiences who watched the live game in support of the charity that is raised by the match, the Azkals were happy to achieve their objective; in which, at the same time, the match also serves as their starting point to gear up for their another upcoming fight with Korean Football Club and their next major journey in Nepal as the AFC Challenge Cup.

In the wavering exchange blows of Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. who’s the next fighter deserve to fight against Pacman, the world’s pound for pound champion? If someone is to ask, a known reliable Pacquiao confidante and his business manager, named Wakee Salud, the only answer lies in the form of the unbeatable Timothy Bradley, the world jr. welterweight champ, (28-0-0, w/ 12 KOs).

In the sports radio of DZSR 918’s, he recently shared his opinion and inside info about the negotiations for the next fight of Pacman, and he revealed that there are top 3 names that stand out: Timothy Bradley of United States, Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico, and Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico, who are considered at this point in time to match the greatest Philippine boxer, which was also the names that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has given names previously with trainer Freddie Roach.

According to Salud boxing expertise side, it is Timothy Bradley who he deems would be the top choice for Pacquiao for the Filipino bump into eight-division world champion. He picked Bradley due to the fact that this boxer is the easiest within those top 3 names mentioned. Timothy Bradley is an American boxer, born on 29 August 1983; he is rated at Light welterweight, with 28 Wins and 12 Knockouts, 0 Losses, 0 Draws, and 1 No Contest.

“I think Bradley is the best option. Cotto is doubtful, because they can’t agree with the weight. Marquez, in my opinion, he already laid down his demands, and that’s the problem. He doesn’t want it to be in Las Vegas, he has so many demands.” said Salud.

He even added that the Bradley fight will be at 147, “it can get ironed out by the end of the week when Bob Arum flies into Manila to meet with his prized fighter.” As well, Salud lined out Amir Khan Lamont Peterson saying that his name is big enough yet to warrant for a Pacquiao fight showdown. Above and beyond, Bradley subjected Peterson anyhow in 2009 when they fought back.

In the undercard of the Pacquiao and Marquez ‘trilogy’ last November 13, Bradley was seen in action where he knocked the Joel Casamayor, the Cuban challenger in the 8th round technical knockout.

According to many that Bradley has much difference from Mannypacquiao:

1st. Bradley is not in the equal league as Pacman when it comes to skills and he has not even fought same as level of opposition that the Philippine boxer, Pacquiao has.

2nd. Bradley would not acquire the size that is advantages as Pacquiao’s preceding opponents have had; as a result, it would be close enough yet in the physical qualities.

3rd. Pacquiao has been fighting in the ring against much superior hitting boxers in his latest fights including Hatton, Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, Clottey or De La Hoya; and if these bigger fighter could not defeat Pacquiao except Marquez though, then how much more Bradley who is being a bit lighter boxer? Has he still got the chance to take Manny’s title?
